My Teaching Philosophy

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
- Albert Einstein

I believe that every child is uniquely gifted with a myriad of strengths as well as areas of growth, and furthermore, a unique learning style which will enable them to thrive.

As an early childhood educator, I believe that meaningful teaching begins with a deep awareness and understanding of the individual needs of a whole community of learners, which is what we are together as a classroom. Therefore, teaching needs to be an attentive response to the dynamic spectrum of learners in every classroom.

My goal in the classroom is to create a rich learning environment that both stimulates and extends children’s natural curiosity as well as makes knowledge accessible to them, inviting exploration and celebrating the wonderful, and oftentimes unexpected ideas that are discovered through our shared explorations. In this way, I hope to provide each child with an educational experience that is both challenging and supportive and above all, inspiring a genuine love for learning.

As a community of unique learners, our goal is to actively experience learning in a meaningful way that nurtures a positive self-image of ourselves as we embark on our journey as life-long learners.
